FWIW, I used to think NPR was a waste of time and money. Due to our lousy radio market I started listening to our local NPR station on a regular basis. I was wrong about NPR and the local programming. It is an excellent resource. Now I can't get enough of it.
As far as paying to listen to radio, I won't. Guess I'm too cheap.
