I had my uncle's 1934 White's Radio Log (not sure if it's still around -- 
it's been years since I saw it) and he regularly got the US west coast -- 5
kw, thank you very much -- in Niagara Falls, NY.

According to Jerry Berg's book, east coast Australian MW radio stations were
heard quite regularly on ECNA and vice-versa.  Now, THOSE were the days!
