I believe Emes sold 1050 to Spanish Broadcasting System (WSKQ) which
traded with the Forward Association for WEVD-FM.

WEVD, of course, stands for Eugene Victor Debs, the railroad union
leader and Socialist Party founder/cofounder who ran for President in
1920 from Atlanta Federal Prison where he had been sent for making a
speech protesting WWI.

IIRC, the Fox broadcast center at 205 E. 67th St. is the Trans Lux
Theater and has been the home of Fox 5 New York (WNYW - now there's a
set of call letters for an SWL) since it was WABD, owned by Allen B.
Dumont.
