Not to turn this into a birding list but I spotted serveral birds as 
well.  I was driving down a country road and ahead on both sides of the 
road, above what looked like turned over fields, I saw what looked like 
3 or 4 hawks or turkey vultures hovering about 12 feet above the ground. 
  One or two may be higher.  They were moving from side to side trying 
to hover.  They were of fair size and the trailing edge of the wings 
near the ends came to points.  I did not notice any colors as they were 
moving around.

Shortly after arriving home and unpacking the car i got the chills and 
through today I have a nasty cold.  I hope I did not spread it around.
