Wellbrook's is broadband, so not the same thing as what's described on the N6RK site.
However, in either case, once the loop exceeds a certain size, signal phase / current distribution varies along the wire and the antenna looks more like a resonant structure. Also the resistance of the wire, especially if thin, becomes more of a contributor to loss (and, in the tuned case, low-Q).

Great piece! It's interesting to note Andy Ikin at Wellbrook DOES specify a
maximum size (21m for a triangle, for example) but I always assumed that had
to do with the configuration of his ALA 100 amplifier input.

14 ft. per side mentioned for 160-m ham band. Would likely want to double (at least) that for MW, so close to 30 ft. / 9m per side: something you'd suspend between trees rather than mount on a frame..
