[IRCA] 3" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 3-28

Usually I'll try toÂpost a report immediately after a DXing session, but yesterday morning the TP's were so anemic that I wondered whether to post a report at all. After seeing the reports from Walt, Bruce and Nick, thoughÂ(and on the theory that misery enjoys company) I decided to finally post a report, if only to once again show the low-band propagation biasÂat this location.

The only really healthy signal here was 594-JOAK, which reached a very good level at 1345. My session started off at 1305 but nothing really had stable audio until around 1330, when 594 and 693 bothÂrose up to fair levels. The 1053 Jammer had a fair peak at 1335 with an apparent TP under it, but both fizzled quickly. 603 had threshold audio from 1330-1350 but the programming didn't seem like that of HLSA (639 had a strong carrier at the same time, so 603Âcould have been China). 1323 also had a strong carrier for most of the session with occasional threshold audio, but never could really get untracked. Besides these the NHK big guns on 747, 774 and 828 all had fair appearances late on from 1345-1355, but were plastered by domestic splatter. That was pretty much the story for a veryÂforgettable morning.
