[IRCA] 3" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 3-27

A sharp sunrise enhancement boost from 1330-1355 gave some energy to Asian signals which had been struggling to get out of the noise around 1315. None of the signals ended up very strong, but 1503-JOUK (// 594) was received for the first time on the hot-rodded PL-380, and a presumed 1323-CRI was in and out with threshold audio from 1325-1355.

At my 1315 start time the only Asians in evidence were weak NHK signals on 594 and 693, with everything else struggling to maintain audio.Carriers started developing on 603 and 1323 from 1315 to 1328, by which time both signals broke into weak audio in and out (HLSA and an apparent CRI). The best that 1323 could manage was a few seconds of apparent Russian male speech at 1328, but it was too weak to make a positive identification. 639 also had a strong carrier at the same time, but its wispy audio was buried in 640 splatter. 1503-JOUK came out of nowhere around 1340 to reach a fair level with Japanese male speech // 594, the 17th Asian station to be received on these FSL-enhanced PL-380 models. 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer also reached fair levels during the sunrise enhancement boost but never could maintain strong audio. 603-HLSA delivered some weak audio withÂpop music at 1348 but was far from vibrant. That was pretty much the story of a modest session, with only 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB sounding very much alive (and only briefly, around 1345) with good signals during peak sunrise enhancement.
