[IRCA] 3" FSL Tecsun PL-380 TP-DX for 3-18 (Low Band NHK Surge)

What seemed like a clunker band early on was rescued somewhat by a huge sunrise enhancement surge by the low band Japanese big guns, with 594-JOAK at a steady good level from 1330-1350 and 693-JOAB on a late surgeÂto manage the same potent signals at 1355.

At my 1300 start time only 1566-HLAZ had much of a signal,Ârising up and down with fair peaks in the 1560 splatter. Nothing else seemed very interested in the propagation until increasing sunlight around 1330 brought 594-JOAK up to a good level, with the Korean parallels on 558 and 603 also coming out of the noise to reach fair peaks. 1566-HLAZ and the other ghostly high band signals on 1503 and 1575 started to fizzle about this time, while the NHK big guns on 693, 747, 774 and 828 came out of the noise. The sunrise enhancement propagation seemed seriously slanted toward the low band, with 594-JOAK ridiculously strong compared to everything else from 1330-1350. Finally around 1355 the Chinese lessons on 693-JOAB tapped into the sunrise propagation surge, boostingÂits signal to the highest level ever received on the "Science Fiction PL-380." (good). The party was short lived, however, as both 594 and 693 hit the skids just prior toÂthe 1400 TOH, with both of them sliding into the noise by 1405. Best overall signals were from 594-JOAK at 1344, and 693-JOAB at 1355 (both good,Âwith a huge difference from their paltry levels at 1300).
