[IRCA] for the propagation buff...

although the concern is more about geomagnetic effects on the power
grid, anything that helps understand the relationship between the
sun and the geomagnetic field is a good thing. This particularly
caught my eye:
For example, 1-D models have trouble calculating changes in
geomagnetic induction currents near coastal regions where land
abruptly gives way to ocean. That's a particularly big problem
because such models have trouble calculating the buildup of charge
at the boundary between land and sea (also known as the "boundary effect")
Obviously Grayland would be a fine site for a geomagnetic observatory....
best wishes,
Nick
