[IRCA] TP 4 Jan Victoria version

Dead dead dead. And then the DX season started up again just after 1500UT with jazzy vocals on 1557, culminating in a nice sunrise enhancement around 1540-1550UT, with several Chinese sounding stations, and quite a few carriers, almost all upper band, and very erratic.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

1566 HLAZ peaking 1545UT with woman in Chinese.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

the above passing through

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

1593 CNR1 heard the short and long pip at 1530UT, faded up to man in Chinese 1543UT, too bassy to get much intelligence even if I spoke Chinese

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

1098 woman talking 1547UT, Chinese?
1242 man talking 1541UT; mixing with woman talking, two stations? at 1551UT, maybe a Chinese inflection in there somewhere, but just a mess 1314 woman talking, insistence as if Chinese but very weak; maybe music in there too 1544UT
1395 man talking, maybe Chinese? 1542UT
1422 woman talking 1532UT, Chinese inflection?
1503 woman talking, quick insistence didn't sound Japanese 1548UT, very similar to 1098, and could have fooled myself that they were in parallel, but not listed that way in any reference (thinking of RTI....) 1557 likely Taiwan, jazzy female vocals 1501UT, also pop 1516UT; wasn't noted much during sunrise enhancement

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

594 1134 1179 1314 1332 1359 1386 1404 1494 1575

best wishes,

Nick
