Once again Victoria propagation proves that it is in a higher league than the pitiful Puyallup variety.
Â
Around 1430 a weak 594-JOAK and 972-HLCA managed to come out of the noise, but neither one stuck around for long. Carriers on 693 and 774 were close to audio but never quite made it. For once the high band was shut out here, without even a carrier on 1566, 1575 or 1593. Increasing daylight resulted in decreasing Asians, with all TP audio gone by 1515 here. Of course the DU's avoid this location like the plague, having made their sole appearance (probablyÂfor the decade) on October 10th.

One could safely say that there was a bit of an enhancement this
morning, but it was mostly in the period between 1500-1520UT, so not
quite sunrise. ÂThere was also a bit of a boost around 1330UT, but
that seemed to favor New Zealand rather than Asia.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
774 and 594 were close; in a splatter free world they would have made it.
Reasonable audio Âat Âtimes during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK man in Japanese, NHK1 theme music 1509UT
774 JOUB man and woman in Japanese 1528UT, then man in English. ÂThis
one held out fairly well until the middle of the music box s/off after 1540UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
819 man in DU English 1333UT, likely New Zealand, and would have been
perfectly readable but for 820 splash
828 JOBB man in Japanese, 1506UT, //774
972 HLCA man in Korean 1507 and 1522UT
1116 4BC man in DU English; phone in program 1521UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
1017 woman talking, island language? Â0958UT, Âfading to
unreadability by the hour
1107 man talking, maybe DU English 1334UT
1386 ballad 1339UT
1566 woman talking, sounded like HLAZ Japanese program s/off 1343UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
612 837 864 873 891 1134 1143 Â1512 1548
best wishes,
Nick
