As Colin and Walt have reported the Japanese big guns were potent this morning, and they didn't wait for sunrise enhancement to start pounding in. Even in the predawn darkness around 1300 both 594-JOAK and 693-JOAB were hitting S9 levels, and they were joined by 747-JOIB and 774-JOUB at local-like strength throughout the session. The biggest star of the morning was 738-BEL2, though, with a fair to good peak of music atÂ1340 to reach its best level since lastÂOctober.
Â
It was pretty obvious at my 1300 start time that the session would be an improvement over yesterday, with the NHK big guns already pounding in on 594 and 693, as well as an above-average signal from 738-BEL2 in and out of the KCBS splatter. The Koreans on 972, 1053 and 1566 were at fair strength, but never really built up much steam throughout the session. 558-HLQH was managing fair peaks with music // 603 in the 560 splatter, and the Japanese big guns on 747 and 828 were building up their strength. It was mostlyÂan NHK big gun show during the predawn darkness, with S9 peaks continuing on 594,Â693, 747 and 774 until around 1330. With the first sign of daylight 738-BEL2 got a major boost, and hit a fair to good peak with instrumental music at 1340-- its best signal since last October. The KBS2 parallels on 558 and 603 stayed at modest levels throughout the session,Âthough, and by 1400 all of the second-tier Asians had bailed. On the other hand 594-JOAK went on a blistering run around 1350, pounding in with an S9+ signal thatÂequaled the strongest Japanese signal of the season (from 693-JOAB, a few days ago). The NHK big guns stuck around until about 1405 here, with 594 and 693 the last to pack it in. Overall the session was memorable because of the unusually goodÂsignal from 738-BEL2, and 594-JOAK's monster run late in sunrise enhancement.
