[IRCA] 23 September 2015 TP/DU Alive alive Oh...

Session time from 1300 until 1410 or so.

A lively turn out with lots of 1st and 2nd tier Japanese stations - almost
all NHK.
A couple of red seal performances from ABC Australia, some audio on new
channels (for me)
and a couple of mysteries.

As always: Receiver Drake R8 - Antenna N/NW Flag with variable VACTROL
(homebrew) termination.

1310 594 Khz - Japan - S9 and in the clear - and arguably the most
consistently audible Japanese station thorought every successful session.

1314 675 Khz - UNid DU - heavily inflected English accent - not sure who is
the most regular here - New Zealand? this frequency was only really hot for
minutes at
a time here and there.

1319 891 Khz - JOHK - JJ OM amidst 2 or 3 other signals in the background
(that would take turns running the show through the morning) This was the
single most
interesting channel because something Thai/Khmer/Viet sounding would take
over for a while with lively pop music and then later in the session it was
all ABC. Quite the treat.

1323 540 Khz - UNID - a rumble of different things happening here with CBC
Ucluelet on the very bottom - some Asian sounding conversations at some
point
but nothing definitive.

1335 1116 Khz - 4BC - Brisbane - little doubt the endless YL and EE DU back
and forth - also one of the most steady signals all morning.

1337 792 Khz - UNID - popped by briefly into some classical music.

1341 1503 Khz - UNID at fair to good levels with Asian pop music - again,
did not hang around this end of the buffet that much.

1342 1422 Khz - UNID - big carrier and solemn music (I think a new
frequency for me...)

1343 1386 Khz - NHK Tier Two Syncro's JJ YL/OM language lessons by the
sounds of it.

1345 1242 Khz - NHK - assume with the JJ Patter - as well as 1287 which was
mighty fine this AM as well.

1347 531 Khz - UNID - bouncy pop music - there was good carrier here all
session but general a jumbled mix of 3 or 4 different things. An SDR to
analyze
all the exact frequencies would be handy.

1348 585 Khz - UNID - bouncy pop music (It's catchy) but did not hang
around - most of the morning there was a least good carrier and hints of
audio
and snippets of audio on 531, 540, 558, 567, 576, 585, 594, 603 and 612
making it the most interesting section of this mornings buffet.

1349 612 Khz - 4QR - Brisbane AUS - // to the live stream -
https://youtu.be/JbBpIrre7Bo pretty typical - would rise to occasional
exceptional heights making
it quite listenable.

1352 837 Khz - JOQK (t) - Japan - OM JJ chatter / guess this is kind of
Tier 2 / Tier 3 Japan - not sure where the delineation is.

1404 891 Khz - 4TAB(t) - Australia - https://youtu.be/rfggB-Dfsg4 Highlight
of the morning - 5 kw from Townsville? Under these conditions: Very
possible.
at 1410 this sounded very // to the ABC Live stream

Overall - a good morning - and I see that a few benefited from the good
conditions!
