[IRCA] TP 5 Sep Victoria version
As Gary observed, definitely an Asian morning, not really fading
until 1330Ut. Quite spectacular really for this early in the season.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
747 JOIB man in Japanese 1315UT, woman in English //774
774 JOUB man in Japanese 1224UT, something else underneath; also
1243UT, but English lessons not heard until 1302UT.
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
702 man and woman in DU English 1311UT
738 rhythmic vocal pop music, likely Tahiti 1307UT
828 JOBB man in Japanese 1232UT //774 which was weaker just then
972 HLCA 1318UT, woman in Korean
1053 Korean jammer 1219UT
1566 HLAZ man in English, man in Chinese (likely translation)
1214UT; Not much better than this level during the Japanese program
at 1230UT which had an unusual opening to the program, with a man in
Japanese talking over a cello solo.
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
567 JOIK man in Japanese 1313UT //594
1143 Taiwan Fisheries? woman in Chinese at 1308UT
1287 JOHR two men in Japanese 1309UT
1575 VoA? man in SE Asian language at 1245UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
594 JOAK man in Japanese? 1241UT; ID'd later with parallels to 567 and 891
873 JOGB English lessons 1306UT //774
891 JOHK woman talking 1317UT //594
963 man talking, couldn't guess at language
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
576 612 837 846 855 864 1017 1098 1242 1323 1386
best wishes,
Nick
