Re: [IRCA] 531 UnID Australians-- Oz English Translator Needed

The only clip I can understand anything substantive is #2, opening with standings for some sort of sports league, then comes the time check for "four and-a-harf parst ten" and a "Macquarie (what?) news" extro..

After the commercial; there a lengthy weather round-up for a bunch of north Queensland locations, including Cairns (sounds like "Kens" to a Nth American ear) and Townsville with temps in the mid-20's Celsius.

So that clip at least would point to 4KZ.

4KZ is the only 531 Aussie with pips as best I know.In clip #2, at 1:05 I think I hear 'Innisfail".In #4, there are some clear phone numbers, an ad for a solar power product, and then an ad for someone that delivers from ?? to ?? What I hear for the locations doesn't match up with towns around Innisfail or Kempsey. The programming aligns with 4KZ but I can't hear a real ID.

Subject: [IRCA] 531 UnID Australians-- Oz English Translator Needed

Hello All,
During the recent Rockwork 4 DXpedition a single 15" FSL antenna was constantly tuned to 531 kHz during sunrise DU openings-- and it certainly came up with a lot of Australian signals. Can anybody provide assistance or ID clues from the following 531 recordings? !) 531 Australian station with six identical time pips at the 1200 TOH, with no delay or difference in tone with the last pip. Does anyone know which 531 Oz station uses this time pip system?

2) 531 Australian with quite a bit of speech at 1204 on 6-25, none of which seems easy to decipher by someone accustomed to American English

3) Strong 531 Australian music station with almost no ID's, except for this undecipherable short one in between songs at 1217 on 6-25

4) Fairly strong 531 Australian male talks on and on at 1219 on 6-27, unfortunately in an accent undecipherable by the sleep-deprived Yankee DXpeditioner

Any assistance or advice on the above 531 recordings will be greatly appreciated-- thanks! 73, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA)
