Paul,
I have a Wellbrooke ALA-1530+ Loop that I really enjoy. It's mounted at
about eight feet up, and I use a small TV rotor to rotate it from the
shack. The antenna does a solid job of reducing noise from the
neighbors, and can help to reduce the signal strength of closer
stations, allowing weaker DX to be heard. It's built like a tank,
lightweight, and easy to mount. I use it along with the Clifton Labs
Active Whips as input into a phaser. Using both offers the best of both
worlds for me.
The loop requires more "work" generally---so it's not as useful for
casual DXing, like when I only have a few minutes after dinner. But for
dedicated sessions, when I'm going after specific target stations, it's
awesome.
Hope that helps! Best of DX to you!

Hello All,
I have an H800 Skymatch Active Antenna and it is a wonderfully fabulous
antenna.
Being the gadget geek I am, I can't simply resist playing with a loop
antenna.
Does anyone out there have one of these? A PK Loop"

I assume a loop, being directional, might produce different results then
the 2 ft long broadbanded H800 skymatch antenna.
A friend in australia used the loop and a 2kw AM on 1089khz that was 600
miles away went from barely there.. as in you could tell you had a single
but couldnt understand much. .and with the loop it was like a strong semi
local.
I can't build a loop, don't have the tools and honestly, the patience. lol
Does anyone have any loops they like, wether commercially made or homemade?
Anyone have a loop they'd sell? I'd consider buying it but my budget isn't
that big right now.
Paul
