[IRCA] TP for 15 March 2015 from Masset

Had a very interesting morning in Masset. Not spectacular, but decidingly
Asian. Plus, on Sundays several JJ and KK stations signed off, so I could
hear their sign offs. NHK2 signed off at or after 15:00 for a change. On
top of this, the entire island had a scheduled power outage between 12:25
and 15:15 UTC, so purely DC during that time. I powered the laptop with a
12 and 6 volt car batteries in series, while the Perseus used a Guy Atkins
manufacture 6 to 5 volt regulator. Worked perfectly. I let Mestor do the
work (hoping no stuttering), while I played with my 7030+. Masset always
impresses me with post dawn enhancements. Down south, these might last 20
or 30 minutes. Here in the north, they easily last 1 to 2 hours, and
signal strength can be phenomenal. 1350 was my frequency of interest
today. After JOER signed off at 16:30, 2 cochannel Chinese continued past
17:00. Back and forth they went. One was a rather harsh sounding
conversation between a man and woman. Did not sound like typical
Mandarin. No time pips at TOH. Just kept on talking. The other had more
EZL music, and occ talk. The fun of DX. The lower half died off first,
but the upper band kept on going. I should have a great collection of
Perseus wav files to peruse. Other fun catches were 738, 747, and 756 all
in parallel . Around 17:30. KBS1 presumed.
After a fun morning, we walked the beach to brilliant sunshine and no
wind. Despite 1 deg C temperature it was very warm gazing across to
Alaska. Life is sweet! 73, Walt
