Re: [IRCA] Ecuador on 750

Thank you guys.

To tell you the truth Brandon, I have more success with trans-Atlantic stations than Latins. It seems that you have to DX deep in the night to be successful with Latins, which I'm not doing. I would certainly like also to log more Mexicans like Saul is doing in Ontario, but it seems that the key for that is to get up very early and I'm used to get up at 7:00 :-)

Very nice! Never logged Ecuador here in IL although 540 is a possibility.
I wasn't living here back in the day when Ecuador had many splits. 73 KAZ

While DXing live on Thursday night at around 00:30 EST, I had a great
surprise when I heard HCRC2 Radio Caravana on 750 from Guayaquil,
Ecuador. From that moment, I began to record a chunk of the band with
the Perseus hoping that it could later reveal more surprises on other
nearby channels. Surprisingly, after a quick review of the files, there
was nothing to cheer for. A few Cubans were observed here and there, but
not with authority as the band was largely dominated with domestics.

What surprised me also was the absence of Venezuela on 750, which is
usually the dominant LA station here on that channel.

_Clip# 1_: With the station alone on the frequency, promos including one

_Clip# 2_: This time, a phone-in report with Radio Caravana mentions.
The clip begin with a mix of domestics with WSB among them then around
sec.30, there's a shift in the propagation path and this is where the 25
Kw Ecuadorian station retake the lead

Even though this is a relog from 2012, I was very pleased to repeat the
experience :)
