[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-12

After yesterday's excellent conditions the AsianÂpropagation wasÂslightly off this morning (as Bruce has reported), but there were still some interesting signals to be found. In addition to potent signals from the usual big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774, 972 and 1053 there was a fair-to-good level competition on 603 between HLSA and China (Hulun Buir?), and a similar snarl on 657 between Pyongyang and China (Henan?). 
 
At my 1245 start time it was pretty obvious that yesterday's exceptional conditions would not be repeated,Âand that the session would be fairly routine. Unlike yesterdayÂthe second tier Asians onÂ558, 603, 657 and 738 were still down in the noise during the predawn darkness, although 594-JOAK, 693-JOAB and 747-JOIB were every bit as strong asÂthey were yesterday. After aÂroutine sunrise enhancement boost around 1340 the somewhat obscure 603-China began to come out of the noise at a fair level, dominant on the frequency for about 10 minutes before being drowned out by HLSA's pop music. At the same time 657-Pyongyang's dreary music wasÂin a fluttery mix with its weak Chinese co-channel, a situation which continued until the band folded around 1430. 738-BEL2 managed fair audio at various times during the session but never came close to approaching yesterday's potent level. Several other Chinese which showed up yesterday wereÂmissing in action this morning, such as 639-CNR1, the mystery Mainland Chinese station on 738, and 936-Anhui. The high band was just as dreary as yesterday, with only 1287-JOHR and 1323-CRI managing feeble audio at times. The Japanese big guns on 594 and 747 had the best signals of the morning, with bothÂmanaging S9 levelsÂin and out throughout the session. Congratulations also to Richard in Oklahoma for receiving 747-JOIB for the first time this season-- which certainly sounded potent enough here to make theÂtrip far inland.
