[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-11 (Conclusion)

Hello All,

As Dennis and Bruce have reported, Asian conditions wereÂfavorableÂthis morning,Âwith many second-tier TP'sÂmanagingÂenergetic audio for the first time this season. In addition toÂpowerfulÂsignals from the usual big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774, 828, 972 and 1053 there were seasonal-best signals from 639-CNR1, 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2. The Taiwan station was the overall star of the morning, with a potent S7 run (through some Mainland Chinese competition) from 1355-1410.

The Asians were already energetic at my 1245 start time, with 603-HLSA, 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2Âall managing fair signals (along with greatÂaudio from the NHK big guns). Although both 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2 were already at their seasonal best levels in the predawn darkness the North Korean was dealing with an undermodulation problem (a very high S/N reading with relatively weak audio)Âand 738-BEL2 had heavy San Francisco splatter. The KBS2 parallels 558-HLQHÂand 603-HLSA were both at good strength just prior to 1300, and both 639-CNR1 and 648-VORÂbegan to makeÂweak appearances in theÂKFI and CISLÂsplatter. These second-tier Asians continued to build up strength throughout the increasing daylight, with 738-BEL2 enjoying a huge boost after KCBS bailed out around 1355-- going on a potent S7 run (with a Chinese co-channel) right up until through theÂ1400 TOH. 639-CNR1 also got a major boost when 640-KFI bailed out around 1410, reaching its best audio of the new season (good) on the clear frequency. Finally 936-China (presumed Anhui) had fair audio in and out very late in sunrise enhancement around 1420, while 657-Pyongyang (still withÂits undermodulated signal) hadÂgood strengthÂ(along with a weak Chinese co-channel)Âas late asÂ1430. Best signal of a very wild morning was from the NHK2 big gun 747-JOIB at 1345, though-- blasting throughÂthe mystery noise and Portland splatter to peg the PL-380 S/N display for a full three minutes.
