Re: [IRCA] KCKM snatched from the mouth of the dragon

*LOL* Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I had the good fortune (or dumb luck?) of getting stuck with growing up in the 1980s...Reaganomics, Rubik's Cubes, MTV, and all that stuff... :) Excellent job on pulling KCKM out from under the clutches of KWFM, Bob. I can't imagine Tucson is a very easy environment in which to DX the MW band. 13 AM stations within a 20-mile radius, 2 GY frequencies occupied (and a 3rd, 1340, probably loaded with splatter from KWFM, depending on where you are in town), and several of those 13 clustered on the lower end of the band. You probably have lots of mixing products to deal with. :( 73,Rick DauSouth Omaha, Nebraska

Of all Tucson stations, KWFM 1330 is the closest to me at about three miles. Nothing at all until 0516 UTC when definite sweep tones were heard. Next heard was code (couldn't copy but a few letters) at 0524 followed by more sweep tones. All of these are consistent with what I've seen posted this morning. I threw everything I had at it, but my Tecsun PL-310 was the only one that produced results. I don't mind digging and scratching for a new one, but the worst part was having to listen to KWFM's horrid 80's Rock programming. Many thanks to Bob and Paul for making this test happen!
