[IRCA] TP 12 Mar, Victoria version

I think that might have been a morning for the coast. Tons of carriers, some with barely discernible audio...things hopped from 1200UT, faded a bit to the regulars for awhile, banged back up at 1340UT, subsided slightly again, and final peak around 1415UT or so. From 1200 to 1230UT, distraction was provided by a live Enka mx concert on NHK1....overwrought JJ vocals at their finest; mere DX had to wait when 567 or 594 were peaking, sorry.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK Enka concert peaking 1224UT. Sometimes you just have to stop and listen. 774 JOUB various times until s/off at 1440UT, but "JOUB NHK Akita dai ni hoso" by man at 1320UT was a good sample
1557 Taiwan man in CC and into pop mx, //webstream, 1413UT
1566 HLAZ pretty big w/JJ talk etc. at various times during JJ broadcast, but acquitted itself well at 1415UT also, w/woman in CC and into choral mx. Still there, at least briefly at 1459UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK Enka concert 1209-1225 or so //594; 567 was more consistent though
738 Tahiti man in FF 1401UT
747 JOIB EE lessons 1201UT
828 JOBB "JOBB NHK Osaka dai ni hoso" by woman 1320UT and into time trials, EE lessons.
972 HLCA man in KK 1203UT
1593 CNR1 woman in CC //6175 1410UT, plus something else, not NHK2....Taiwan??

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR likely. man mentioning country music festival 1306UT
891 JOHK. Enka concert //594 1210UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

585 JOPG. Man in JJ //594 1342UT
603 ?? woman talking 1416UT, but too weak for a guess
702 NHK2 man talking //828 1201UT
1053 KK jammer 1202UT
1215 DYRF? man preaching? Tagalog? 1339-40UT
1314 man talking 1416UT Tagalog?
1332 man and woman talking, not sure if JJ or not 1341UT
1323 CRI. Stringed mx leading up to chimes and fanfare at 1200UT, but fading down rapidly
1377 man talking 1418UT, but more laid back than the CNR1 man on 6175.
1503 JOUK likely at 1412UT w/ JJ sounding talk, not //594, but there is a break out for local nx at 1410UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

549 558 621 657 756 837 864 873 936 945 954 981 1116 1143 1251 1269 1287 1296 1359 1386 1395 1458 1476 1494

best wishes,

Nick
