Bruce got it right about "earlier was better" this morning, but my
recording started just before 1300UT, so I might have missed
something. However, I have Juan de Fuca Strait near by, so got to
hear 4QR and Tahiti.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
not today
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK woman then man in JJ 1301UT
738 Tahiti island mx 1423UT, followed by man and woman en francais,
peaking 1426UT
774 JOUB man w/JJ wx report 1304UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
612 4QR ABC fanfare, and "ABC news" by woman 1500UT; also heard
1300UT but weaker.
828 JOBB man w/wx forecast 1314-15UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
891 man and woman talking, not //594 1303UT, maybe a DU EE inflection?
972 HLCA? man talking, maybe KK 1259UT, pips barely there 1300UT
1116 ? a mix of mx and a man talking 1309UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
747 1422 1566 1575
best wishes,
Nick
