Today's DX was a bit better than yesterday's. There was a sunrise
enhancement of sorts, but it was mainly HLAZ-1566 and VOA-1575 rising
from "not there at all" too "barely there" for about three minutes.
Instead, the real action took place at about 1230-1300. JOUB was
impressive for a few minutes, and a few other low band stations made
brief appearances with so-so signal levels.
Good - A native speaker could have understood most of it
774 JOUB, English lesson 1254, man talking to another about his
relationship with his girl friend, including the phrase "by the way,
tomorrow is Valentine's Day" (a bit late, I think). The next segment
featured a commercial for a hypothetical movie theater.
Fair - A native speaker could probably have picked out a few words here
and there
594 JOAK, man in Japanese 1224, 3+1 pips then man & woman talking
1300, peaking at 1302
693 JOAB, English lesson 1228, two people greeting "good morning"
828 JOBB, language lesson 1238, pips and weather 1300
972 HLCA, man & woman in Korean 1317
Poor - A native speaker would furrowed their brow and said "forget it"
747 Woman talking 1240, sounded like one of the "regulars" from the
English lessons
1566 Faint traces of talk 1457, presumably HLAZ but you couldn't
prove it by me
1575 VOA, weak talk peaking at about 1456
Carriers 738 1503 1557
