[IRCA] Mostly Mexican MW DX to Enid OK, January 17-23, 2014

These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also VHF/UHF, sometimes utility, ham, which may be found in several archives without much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxldmid.html

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open access:
http://forums.wtfda.org/showthread.php?6543-MW-DX-from-Enid-OK-by-Glenn-Hauser/page15

All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only; or Sony SRF-59 as specified; Nissan stock caradio as specified; FRG-7 with E-W longwire as specified

Well, mostly unMexican this week, but to keep the thread going:

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic MW carrier search provoked, once I hear the Saudi 1521 het upon much closer 1520 KOKC, Jan 18 at 0113 UT. In next few minutes, carriers also audible on: 1503, 1422, 1296, 1215, 1152, 1125, 1053, 1044, 909, 891, 882, 684, 666. Strongest was 1215, presumably UK as some of the others too (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. TP carrier search, Jan 21 at 1335 UT: JBA on 594, 693, 747, 828, all likely NHK altho no 774 at the moment. Today`s Enid sunrise: 1340 UT (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Follow-up from last week:

** MEXICO. 1700, Jan 13 at 0659 UT, Mexican NA, choral
version, dominating E/W, but I might not have noticed XEPE
with just more sports talk nonsense in English mixed vs
different sports nets from Brownsville and Des Moines to the
N/S. 0700 English ID as ``ESPN Radio 1700``; did not hear
any call letters in any language, but maybe they were
swallowed. It`s 10/10 kW from Tecate BCN; studios in San
Diego, Alta California Sur. But how come they are playing NA
at 11 pm local instead of midnite? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD
OF RADIO 1704, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Answer: may have been just after mandatory (even for border stations in English?) `La Hora Nacional del Gobierno Mexicano`, UT Mondays, which in Central zones is at 10 pm local, delayed here? It`s customary to play NA after it at 11 pm local on Sundays (gh, DXLD)

Also, 0600 UT should be a good time to DX XEARZ, 1650 in the DF, reported by numerous Arctic Radio Clubbers with NA then, really local midnite. I have yet to hear it and I`ve seen hardly any other reports of it from inside North America (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
