[IRCA] TP 20 Oct, Victoria version

Better late than never; lots of chores today I'm afraid, so it took awhile to get back to the recording, which actually turned out to have a couple of interesting things on it (558 //603 1593 //945) but it took a little bit of hard work to figure it all out. Initially, I just thought it was a morning for the first tier stations.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

747 JOIB man in JJ //774 1423UT
774 JOUB immense w/ EE and FF and JJ 1343UT, best of the morning. I heard Walt's Frog interlude a little later, which oddly, I also heard a couple of weekends ago on Gabriola Island. It made me recall a rather uproarious conversation in Japan where we investigated the different sounds animals made in different cultures, but I don't remember what the Japanese frog sound is anymore. They thought "ribbet" was pretty funny, writing it down. So, educational perhaps, though not as much as the later EE lessons that seemed to be about things that a woman could say to deflect unwanted male attention (presumably a foreign male, because it was in EE)

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK woman and man in JJ 1332UT, no 594 for parallel right now
594 JOAK man in JJ 1344UT
972 HLCA singing oriental style in the studio, lots of laughter, eventually accompanying a recorded song 1319UT
1053 KK jammer 1355UT
1575 VoA man and woman SE Asian language 1359UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

603 HLSA jazzy piano mx //558 1357UT, faded down by hour, pips barely heard
828 JOBB EE lessons 1437UT
945 CNR1 man and woman in CC 1456UT gone by the hour of course; had been at a lower level since 1440UT 1593 CNR1 man talking in CC 1438UT, ID'd for sure //945 (slightly offset) at 1441UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

558 HLQH jazzy piano sneaking through the splash 1357UT //603
657 N. Korea? female operatic singing briefly 1401UT
693 JOAB EE lessons //774 1343UT
873 JOGB man talking and jazzy interlude //774 1349UT
1017unID male ballad 1418UT
1566 HLAZ woman talking CC inflection 1411UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

702 819 837 864 891 918 1098 1206 1242 1287 1323 (was heard after sunrise w/audio; reported separately)

best wishes,

Nick
