[IRCA] TP 29 Sep; Victoria version

I was all set for another dull morning, ho hum, every once in a while JOUB blows down the doors, then fades away again....but just a few of the regulars....until just before 1340UT when all sorts of things started blowing down the doors, and didn't quit until well after 1400UT. Although the west Flag is usually best for Asiatics here, the north Flag was the kingpin quite often this morning. Probably still other goodies in the recording but there are other things that need to be done today.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

567 JOIK woman in JJ 1347UT //594
594 JOAK man and woman in JJ 1342, drama? quite a level of jollification; occasionally another station with a man talking trying to slip though 693 JOAB first time ever this strong; EE lessons 1340UT, helped that CBU was playing "low splash" music
747 JOIB EE lessons 1341UT
774 JOUB EE lessons, talk about the human genome project1335UT; 1348UT, someone else trying to slip through woman talking; CC?
828 JOBB EE lessons 1343UT
945 CNR1 CC singing by woman //639 1342UT...very unusual at this strength here
972 HLCA woman singing oriental style a capella 1334UT
1287 JOHR man in JJ, and into pop mx 1352UT
1566 HLAZ man and woman in CC 1357UT; don't think the JJ program approached this level today

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

279 R. Rossii. pips and R. Rossii ID by man 1300UT
603 HLSA quiet voiced man //558 1346UT
612 4QR likely...the odd one out, man and woman in DU EE 1407UT
738 Tahiti and ? two stations mixing 1337UT, one on top was FF talk by woman
954 JOKR likely, woman in JJ, best on north Flag 1349UT
963 CRI man and woman in RR //1323 at 1354UT
1053 KK jammer at various times
1242 JOLF likely, man and woman in JJ 1352UT
1575 likely VoA, woman in SE Asian language 1359UT, but any ID drowned by local noise on the hour...

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH quiet voiced man //603 1346 best on north Flag
738 Taiwan Fisheries, first noted w/ piping little tune 1351UT //1143, and best on west Flag by quite a bit, while 1143 favored the north Flag slightly; woman talking //1143 at 1355UT though with some Tahiti, and then also 1401UT and following with woman talking. First time this season
873 JOGB EE lessons //774 1343UT
873 N. Korea female opera singing //819 1338UT, mising w/JOGB
1143 Taiwan Fisheries, woman in CC with little musical fanfares matching the webstream 1416UT
1188 JOKP man in JJ //567 1403UT, best on N. Flag
1251 CNR1...woman singing, almost operatic //945 and lagging slightly, 1344UT, best on north Flag. Was this the catch of the morning? 1kw listed in Jixi?? There must be another one.
1314 women talking (lively chattering?) JJ inflection1354UT, JOUF?
1323 CRI RR talk by man and woman //963 1354UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

153 R. Rossii instrumental mx //279 1259 very weak pips on hour
639 CNR1 I didn't catch this above this level this morning, singing //945 1342UT, and generally weaker than NHK1
639 JOIP/JOPB man and woman talking //594 1342UT
702 NHK2 synchros //774 1320UT w/little flurry of music. Just before a tantalizing "NHK" sound....but no call letters could be discerned 711 unID some strange stringed mx suddenly appeared 1401UT, then a man speaking, didn't really sound KK
819 N. Korea female opera singing //873 1338UT
891 JOHK female singing //594 1351UT, man talking on channel also, DU EE??
1035 CNR1 man in CC //639, and leading slightly 1352UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

837 864 936 1116 1206 1422

best wishes,

Nick
