In spite of the quiet geomagnetic conditions, things were quite
decidedly poorer overall this morning. Although the regulars did
peak at quite good signal levels, the peaks were short and sharp,
with mostly much poorer signal levels. There seemed to be an overall
peak about 1350-1355UT, and like Nigel, I heard a DU as well. And a
nice big KBBI ID on 890 at 1400UT, but not much else in the way of
Alaskans here.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
594 JOAK man in JJ 1353UT, but often unreadable.
774 JOUB CC lessons 1332UT
828 JOBB CC lessons 1350UT
972 HLCA woman in KK 1350UT, but also often not heard at all (!)
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
1053 KK jammer 1328UT
1287 JOHR two men in JJ 1401UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
1134 JOQR man in rapid fire JJ 1341UT, slow voiced man underneath assumed Korea
1566 HLAZ woman in JJ 1331UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
567 JOIK woman in JJ //594 1339UT
612 man and woman talking DU EE inflection, assumed 4QR 1354UT
891 JOHK woman in JJ //594 1352UT
963 man talking 1345UT
981 CNR1 woman in CC //6030 1352UT
1017 woman talking, 1354, too murky for guess at language
1242 JOLF? man talking JJ inflection 1403UT
1575 woman talking 1335UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
585 702(rough) 864 873 945 954 1044 1143 1251 1314 1323 1332
(oh....and quite a number of TA carriers this evening since 0230UT,
but only 1215 in audio with traces of pop mx just before 0400UT.)
best wishes,
Nick
