[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-23

Hello All,

As both Richard and Walt have reported it was an excellent morning for TP signals, especially from the big guns in Japan and Korea. The usual NHK powerhouses on 594, 693, 747, 774 and 828 were especially strong, and several second-tier Japanese showed up with fair audio on 891, 1134 and 1287. The Korean big guns on 972, 1053 and 1566 were also very potent, with 972-HLCA managing another monster signal at 1325. 1575-VOA also produced its strongest audio of the new season here, with female-male Asiatic language talk around 1320.

Plenty of secondary Chinese frequencies were in audio here this morning, but very few of them rose up to a vibrant level. 603 (presumed Hulun Buir) was in a moderate mix with HLSA at 1333, and 639-CNR1 was the best of the Chinese with good male-female speech at 1338. The secondary Chinese on 756, 918, 927, 936, 1017, 1035, 1044, 1143, 1323 and 1377 kHz were playing hide-and-seek all session long, and typically would come up with poor to fair audio as long as the MP3 recorder wasn't around (they would all seem to dive at that point). 1143 was monitored closely for any identity clues, but whenever it came up to fair audio, 738-BEL2 would be down in the noise. 657-Pyongyang had some kind of weird Korean play going on at 1345, which unfortunately was one of the strongest TP signals late in the session. I was hoping that 657-Henan would rise up and shove it off of the frequency (as happens occasionally here in September), but there was no such luck this morning. Overall it was a !
great session for the Asian big guns, but pretty modest for digging out good audio from the second-tier Chinese.stations.
