Hello All,
>From August 16-19 another wild DXpedition is planned at another Highway 101 turnoff site on the side of an Oregon cliff, this time at Cape Perpetua, located 2 miles south of Yachats in Lincoln County. As during last month's Rockwork 4 DXpedition, a 7.5" loopstick Tecsun PL-380 Ultralight and a new 12" FSL antenna will be used to chase South Pacific DX during daily sunrise enhancement.
This particular cliff site offers nothing special in the way of comfort, although the DXing position is not 3 feet away from a straight-down 400' plunge to the Pacific (like Rockwork 4). The primary thrill at the Cape Perpetua turnoff (besides the enhanced DU-DX) is being located on a Highway 101 curving section, and being in the headlights of huge 18-wheelers until they make their final turn a few feet away from the DXing site.
