[IRCA] July 2013 Oregon Cliff (Rockwork 4) DXpedition Video

Hello All,

For those interested in the radio and antenna setup, unique scenery and operating challenges at the top of a 400' (122m) sheer ocean side cliff during last week's Rockwork 4 DU-DXpedition, a new video has been uploaded to YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWSqvb9NdLo

Showing the all-new 12" DXpedition FSL (22 pounds) and 7.5" MW Loopstick PL-380 Ultralight in the DXing position 3 feet from the cliff edge, the video also shows a panoramic view of the Rockwork 4 scenery, including the solid rock cliff above the DXing site, the ocean far below, and the noisy cars and trucks on Highway 101. Taken on Day 6 of the DXpedition (Saturday), the sleep-deprived narrator does his best to describe the huge challenges and rewards of DXing at such a unique site. 32 South Pacific AM stations from New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti and Tonga were received during the Rockwork 4 DXpedition, most of them at unusually vibrant levels. As in previous trips, the Rockwork 4 Cliff provided complete immunity from the DU propagation drop offs reported by other coastal DXers near sea level, and provided a bizarre "pipeline" to New Zealand on 7 out of 7 days.

73 and Good DX,
Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA)
