531 PI serves the wider Pacific Island community which is pretty large in Auckland (I forget which wins as the largest Polynesian city, Honolulu or Orkland), and only some of their programming is specifically in Samoan. If their website is up-to-date, at the time you're going to be hearing them, our Monday mornings is in Cook Island Maori, Tuesday in Niuean, Wednesday in Tongan, and Thursday in Samoan.
Friday our time as in this morning (i.e. into Saturday NZT), their community programming in Kiribati apparently ceases at 12 a.m. (1200 UT), and their sked isn't clear as to what hits the airwaves between then and 7 p.m. NZT Saturday when it's Fijian, apart from an English sports show during brekkie. That was wrapping up in the live stream I monitored at 2.25 p.m. PDT -- there was a promo for a fishing show "coming up in seven minutes". There were a couple of sports promos at 2.30 p.m. (9.30 a.m. Sat NZT), a commercial for a private arts/training college, and detailed weather for Auckland, Whangarei to the north, Hamilton to the south (1 degree Celsius and foggy... ouch!) and marine areas. Then into a long monologue from a fishie guy! I gave up at 2.40 p.m.

I didn't know that 531-PI ever had English programming with Western pop music, so that was a surprise to me. The station has had a hammerlock on the frequency here all week here, with only an occasional Aussie talker sneaking in at times. Since 531-PI wasn't around as a co-channel during this mystery recording, your suggestion does make sense. What kind of puzzles me, though, is why 531-PI would have this YL announcer with absolutely no Samoan accent playing this western pop music for an extended time, especially when their focus seems to be on promoting the Samoan language, culture and music.
