I finally took a listen to the 18 July recordings, and yes, a nice DU
upper band opening, peaking about 1220UT, though darned if I could
ID anything. Would have been a good morning to be live, and
checking a lot of streaming internet audio.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
not today, though 1566 came close at times
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
738 Tahiti popped up a number of times, man in FF at 1113UT then a
woman; also 1140UT tolling bells with a man in FF
1566 likely 3NE, two men talking DU EE, one on phone 1214UT; one of
the most consistent this morning
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
1116 4BC likely, man in DU EE 1206UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music) :
1035 man talking DU EE inflection 1209UT
1107 man talking 1206UT
1503 man talking 1216UT, DU EE inflection
1539 man talking DU EE inflection, lots of splatter, 1217UT
1548 man talking in splash, 1216UT
1611 man talking w/hum, maybe another station there too? 1216UT
1629 jangly instrumental mx 1214UT, maybe another signal in there
too, man talking?
1638 lkaid back female vocal 1220UT
1674 rhythmic mx, r&b sound to it 1223UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter):
1008 1044 1215 1224 1251 1269 1314 1323 1332 1512 1557 1593 1665 1701
best wishes,
Nick
