Re: [IRCA] TP 17 Jun; Kona version

Will look forward to what you have to report Colin. Nick's blanket analogy is very apt, and indeed the blanket seemed particularly thick this morning, with nothing really even approaching audio. Tahiti has had traces of audio most mornings, generally meagre traces, but not even that today.

Most "normal" nights in Kona one can hear Los Angeles, San Francisco and

The AM dial has over a dozen strong signals from all of the Hawaiian
Islands - night and day - I will do an actual count.

Like you say, there appears to be a damp blanket over the ocean -
At sunset, 738 Tahiti will be booming in and then it dies off entirely by 9
PM
local time -

My promise to the readers: Get up Early on Wednesday morning!

That must be a quiet band Colin. Is even Honolulu that strong there? And
no

  Have you
ever had much luck with NA from Kona? Its location would seem to work
against that.

At the moment here, it is sort of like a blanket has been dumped over the
Pacific, but I don't know that anyone else is even trying to hear anything
just
at the moment. Nigel Pimblett had a logging or two a short while ago, so
it's
not completely dead.

best wishes,

Nick

Quoting "R. Colin Newell" <coffeecanuck@xxxxxxxxx>:

So far, no audio to the West Coast of NA from Hawaii --
Have not braved the morning shift yet -- afraid to discover it is as bad
as
the evening - no serious noise issues this time around -- just Hawaii,
Samoa and Tahiti - very little sign or Tonga or the Marshalls.
