Most "normal" nights in Kona one can hear Los Angeles, San Francisco and
Vancouver quite handily -- and some inland stations on some of the clears.
The AM dial has over a dozen strong signals from all of the Hawaiian
Islands - night and day - I will do an actual count.
Like you say, there appears to be a damp blanket over the ocean -
At sunset, 738 Tahiti will be booming in and then it dies off entirely by 9
PM
local time -
