Things were a little out of control this morning, so no time to
organize and upload the loggings. That disorganization was both in
real life, but also in the DX session. Between 1240UT and about
1300UT, pretty much unheard-of DX for this time of year was popping
out of the underbrush (3 Chinese, low band
Koreans...). Admittedly, to get the full effect, I had to go back
over the SDR recording, but that's what it's there for. Not
really strong signals usually, and erratic, but definitely there.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):
828 JOBB EE lessons "a real live Japanese family" said by woman....1244UT
reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK woman in JJ 1310UT
747 JOIB EE lessons 1245UT
774 JOUB EE lessons, 1246UT
891 JOHK woman singing oriental vocals //594 and better strength at
this time, 1251UT
954 JOKR man in JJ 1243UT
972 HLCA man in KK 1245-6UT
1053 KK jammer 1250UT
1566 HLAZ man in JJ 1310UT; as usual, hung in well after the others,
generally at lower signal levels than this, though quite recognizable
JJ at 1332UT for example.
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be
understood by a native speaker:
234 R. Rossii man in RR //279 1248UT
738 Tahiti man in FF 1245UT
945 CNR1? woman and man in CC 1241UT
1206 man talking, murky and off frequency, presumed Yanbian
1287 JOHR woman in JJ 1305UT
1323 CRI the distinctive stringed music that leads up to the chimes
and fanfare on the hour started at 1257UT, fading down towards the
hour, but still able to hear the chimes weakly then.
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :
558 HLQH slow vocal mx //603 1249UT
603 HLSA same slow vocal mx as 558 1250UT
846 JOCP most likely; JJ talk by woman //594 at 1245UT
864 unID. man talking, JJ inflection 1253 to 1254UT, not //1287. NHK
style pips at 1300UT very faint but there.
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):
1008 SAH, 1098 1242 1269 1305 1422 1476 1575
best wishes,
Nick
