[IRCA] TP Oct 4, 2012 / Victoria version

This was a more Japanese morning here it seemed, with quite good sunrise signals from the big guns, with many of the weaker signals also Japanese. There didn't seem to be the Chinese and Koreans that Dennis and Gary heard.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

594 JOAK JJ talk by man 1358UT
747 JOIB KK? lessons 1402UT
774 JOUB CC lessons 1355UT
1566 HLAZ 1342UT, woman in JJ "FEBC desu". This morning the JJ program peaked louder than the CC program, so ERP won out over sunrise enhancement.

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

828 JOBB JJ and CC talk //747 at 1354UT
954 JOKR JJ talk by man at 1416UT, up with the big guns in level at this time.
972 HLCA man in KK 1356UT
1287 JOHR JJ talk by man 1357UT
1566 HLAZ vocal mx 1356, may have been the peak for the CC program, as after this 1575 was usually better 1575 likely VoA, man talking SE Asian language 1359UT, no ID across the hour that I could hear

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

1053 KK jammer 1357UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

558 unID. man talking 1406UT, no idea of language
567 JOIK woman talking //594 1359UT
846 mumbly talk by man seemingly not //594 1411UT, so unID
873 JOGB language lessons //774 1355UT
891 JOHK man talking JJ //594 at 1403UT
1242 JOLF? man talking JJ inflection 1408UT
1269 JOHW man talking JJ //1287 1408UT, but a second station w/vocal mx was fighting with it in the murk

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

864 918 1188 1314

best wishes,

Nick
