[IRCA] TP Sept 23, 2012 / Victoria version

I would sure like to know what causes these little DX droughts. This morning it was very difficult to dig up the DX, even the big guns were struggling for the most part, yet even so, a couple of Chinese stations turned up briefly.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

774 JOUB finally got up to this level at 1339UT w/man speaking JJ (same time as yesterday)

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

1287 JOHR presumed the one with JJ talk by men plus laughter
1566 HLAZ choral mx at 1340UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK rapid JJ talk by man, first appearance at 1350UT
747 JOIB man talking in JJ 1341UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

639 CNR-1 CC talk by woman //6125 at 1329UT
828 JOBB JJ talk by man // w/stronger 774, 1330UT
936 Anhui? CC inflected talk by woman and man 1333UT
945 CNR1? murky talk by man, not sure if //6125 at 1345UT
954 man and woman talking 1337UT, no clue as to language
972 HLCA likely, man talking 1336UT
1017 instrumental mx briefly followed by man talking 1347; no idea
1053 KK jammer 1329UT
1575 murmers in the murk (obviously a program for DXers)

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

891, 1143, 1314

best wishes,

Nick
