Neil and Tim,
747-4QS is part of the Australian "LR" network, and parallel to the "big gun" 774-3LO, which is easily heard on the west coast when Australian conditions are good. Male-femaile interviews are a staple of the Aussie LR network, such as in this recording of 774-3LO made during an Oregon cliff DXpedition last month http://www.mediafire.com/?m0064ti7ob48664
After listening to Tim's 747 kHz DU recording and the female and male voices during the interview, I'm fairly sure that they are the same voices that I heard repeatedly on the Aussie "LR" network stations like 774-3LO and 828-3GI during Oregon cliff trips over the summer. The audio on Tim's recording isn't very strong, but when you hear that female voice over and over trying to sort out UnID Aussies, you tend to remember it. The only reason that 747-4QS itself wasn't heard on the Oregon cliffs was because it is only 3 kHz away from a 50 kW Portland (OR) pest.

To me, it sounds like you had 4QS. I had a decent carrier there, but
unfortunately it was a couple dB too weak for audio and local WNDZ had their
pre-s/on OC on earlier than normal to hurt it from 750. 73 KAZ
