[IRCA] TP's & DU's for Wednesday, September 12, 2012





Listened this morning from 1025-1350 with gaps in between for breakfast. No shows this morning were 1575 VOA. Unknown station on 576 at sunrise with talk accompanied with music, live stream did not match preacher on "The Word". Poor to very weak signal on this station. 4BC popped in early at 1047 with fair to weak signal. CNR1 639 in for the first time this season. Solar Indices with the K index 0, first time in a while it's been down to zero.

153     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii good signal 1025-1030 with Radio Rossii ID at 1025. Best on NW ewe. Still good at 1253.
180     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1031 good signal with man in Russian. Best on HPAW. Still good at 1254.
189     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1032 fair signal with man in Russian and some static crashes. HPAW. Good at 1254 will woman singing in Russian.
209     ALASKA, Yakataga, CYT 1034 fair signal with weather forecast with static crashes. HPAW.
234     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1035 weak to fair signal with man in Russian. NW ewe. Gone at 1255.
279     RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1036 good with two men in Russian. HPAW.  Good with woman singing at 1255 NW & SW ewe, HPAW. 
576     UNKNOWN, 1335-1342 poor to very weak signal. Music with man talking. Could not determine language.  Not "The Word" preacher talking             with no music. Not NHK1. More music at 1344, instrumental music, songs like religious. Best no NW ewe, but heard on SW ewe too.
594     JAPAN, JOAK NHK1 1219-1220 poor signal with a few Japanese words going through, moderate splatter. Fair signal at 1303.
639     CHINA, CNR1 1330 poor signal with just bits of audio coming through. Weak at 1332 with woman in Chinese. // 6030. First reception             this season.
648     RUSSIA, VOR 1320-1324 steady weak signal with two woman in Chinese. First reception this season. Heard on all four antennas.
657     DPR OF KOREA, 1305 weak signal and // 3250 with woman in Korean.
666     JAPAN, JOBK, NHK1 1327 very weak and // 594. Man in Japanese.  
693     JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1241-1243 fair signal with English Radio Conversation program. Moderate splatter.
747     JAPAN, JOIB NHK2 1245 fair signal with splatter. Beginning of new lessons of English Radio Conversation program.
738     TAHITI, Radio Polynesie, 1052 just a anemic level 3 het. SW ewe. Woman in French at 1108 with weak signal and splatter. 
747     JAPAN, JOIB NHK2 1040 steady weak signal with man in Japanese. Less splatter than usual. NW ewe.
774     JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1042 fair signal with man in Japanese and some splatter. NW & SW ewe. Good at 1307.
774     AUSTRALIA?, 3LO? 1042 weaker station under JOUB. Guessing 3LO, but to weak to make out language. 
792     AUSTRALIA, 4NR 1100 probably the station with weak signal and News mentioned in English. Faded out to the splatter at 1100:15 utc             1318 weak to fair with man reading book. "Book Reading" program.
828     JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1043-1045 fair signal, then drops to poor with man in Japanese. NW ewe.
1053    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, 1258 jammer with fair signal atop channel.
1098    MARSHALL ISLANDS, 1053 level 2 het.
1116    AUSTRALIA, 4BC 1047-1050 fair to weak with two men talking about education and students. Moderate splatter. SW ewe. 1348 back again           with fair signal and talk. 
1287    JAPAN, JOHR HBC 1249-1250 steady weak signal with woman in Japanese. 
1548    UNKNOWN, 1051 weak audio briefly, then KKOV splatter took over.  
1566    REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ FEBC 1252 good signal with woman/man in Japanese.
