Hi Stephen,
If you want to determine whether what you're hearing is what should be LW but might be MW then tune in to a strong local AM on a second receiver and see if the two signals match or not and if they don't then tune to another strong local and see what happens.If the signals don't // then you have an LW coming in. Notice that if your rig gets more than one signal on LW and they do match local AMs then the two signals are only coming in on what corresponds to a smaller section of freqs of the AM band.
