I heard Chinese talk behind HLAZ a few times last weekend at
Grayland. I also heard either 4+1 or 5+1 pips a couple of times.
I'm not done going through the files, but so far it's always been too
weak for any hope of an ID. The NHK style pips are intriguing and
don't seem to fit anything I have listed in the PAL.

Nick, I happened to have a wav file from Sept 24th at 13:00. Just an
ID for
FEBC. No time pips. Interesting, Nick. On Sept 22nd, though, I can
hear 4
+ 1 weakly way under HLAZ. No ID that day. It sounds like another
station,
but potentially could be faint time pips in the background (but as I
said, I
don't think so). Didn't have a wav file at 12:58 on the 23rd. On
the 25th,
nothing noted over the TOH. Finally, on Sept 26th there it was again.
Nothing special on HLAZ, but this time I heard 5 + 1 time pips weakly
co-channel. So, there is a mystery there, Nick. Something there,
but not
heard every day, and quite weak, but who?........Walt

Has anyone else heard time pips on 1566 during TP openings? This
morning
(10 Oct), I heard NHK style pips there at 1300UT, presumably HLAZ
judging by
the strength, but I have never noticed pips there before. They
weren't
heard on the preceding morning.
best wishes,
Nick
