Tim,Great catch(es)! When I lived in NW Iowa & Omaha NE in the early 50s, my only DU was 4YA-780 (even freq. in those days). I had a few other days when I had hets & carriers on the DU frequencies but no audio.....Even better, you're catch of Tahiti on 738. I have yet to hear any audio from this often heard catch (at least on the WC)...Too much KCBS-740. I hear their het often but as yet no audio. Only Aussies heard from California have been Emerald up on the high end & 3LO on 770, sometimes mixing with JOUB. Kiwi's are 1YA on 756 & 1ZD on 1000 (this in 1967)...All of these are 25-35 years ago. My location nowdays is simply too noisy for any serious dx and other situations (like health) are taking up most of my time. But I can dream of better days ahead. Keep reporting your super-catches. A pleasure to read what you & Kaz & the Oklahoma boys hear from Asia & downunder. I've always (up until 8-10 years ago) had great reception from Northern Asia especially in Sep & Oct.

I had my best morning so far since scanning for DUs beginning last week. These seem to peak for a five minute window centered around 1120 UTC and by 1130 UTC they are rapidly fading: 702 Peaked to threshold audio at 1119 UTC, presumed Sydney. 738 Also peaked to just above threshold with a woman speaking in French, presumed Tahiti, my best copy to date and it's probably going in the logbook this time! 747 Strong het peaking but not enough for audio but I will be keeping an eye on it. 756 Another strong het noticed here, but no audio. 73, Tim Tromp Muskegon, MI.
