[IRCA] PL-606 Bandscan (with SAT) - El Cajon, CA, 5-15 mid PM

Hi all... now it's my turn to join the bandscan posting fray. :)

Link to audio recordings:  http://tinyurl.com/PL606-ECscan20110515

Radio: Tecsun PL-606
Antenna: Select-A-Tenna
Location: near 32°45'40"N 116°56'50"W
Date/Time: Sun, 2011-05-15, 2:30-4:00pm PDT
Signal is as displayed on the PL-606 - dBuV (relative to 1 µV input to DSP Si4734), S/N (dB - max 25).  The selectable bandwidth was set at +/- 1 kHz.

ERP for directional signals was calculated by multiplying the square of the actual vs RMS voltage ratio (from FCC data) by transmitter power.  (1170 KCBQ, at 50kW, with a ratio of 3750/2499.5 toward me, has an ERP of about 112.5 kW.  Thanks Deane McIntyre for the equation.)
Two stations are listed on a few frequencies, either because of co-channel interference, or threshold signals making quick identification difficult.

As this radio has a dBµ meter and not a S-meter, I'm not sure how to specify those S# strengths.  If I did, they'd be based (by ear) on the RST scale.  S1 "faint barely perceptible" could be carrier up to program audible but isolating headphones in a quiet environment required.  S4 "fair signal" would be easy armchair copy and sufficient to trip the seek/scan on a radio.  S7 "strong signal" would be full-quieting (RF noise floor below receiver noise floor) and S9 "extremely strong" would be overloading the front end (severe blocking/desense - Tecsun DSP radio displaying 49/00 or 50/00 several channels off, or splatter - Sony SRF-M37W hearing signal just as loud 60-100+ kHz off).  I don't recall the RST "S" scale having S+x dB, so anything over S9 would be distorting/clipping on-frequency like this:  http://tinyurl.com/PL606-EC-KFMB-OvrLdDemo & http://tinyurl.com/PL380-760-KFMB-unID-20110101
I'm guessing if I did specify the "standard" S# strengths, those clips of KFMB might be peaking at something like S9+140dB maybe? ;)
