Thanks, Gary.
I came across a post (yahoo ultralightdx #13426) in which you mentioned you'd taken a photo showing where the terminals are located on the PL-606. Unfortunately, I cannot view the images in the yahoo group messages. Is the image also hosted somewhere else, like mediafire, dxer.ca or the files section of ultralightdx (and I'm looking in the wrong place)? (Also is there a link at which I can browse ULR-related photos/articles you've uploaded to mediafire or whatever the site is you've been using?)

Hi Stephen,
In answer to your question, the PL-606 has an external FM-SW antenna jack which can presumably be rewired like the Laurie Mann modification to the PL-310, allowing the use of external AM plug-in antennas to replace the stock loopstick. But since nobody (that I'm aware of) has done this modification yet on the PL-606, it's unlikely that you'll find any documentation for the procedure. The MW and LW 7.5" plug-in loopsticks that I've designed for the PL-360 model use the radio's own plug-in loopstick jack, and although these antennas will work well with any Tecsun DSP Ultralight model, the PL-606 would need something like the Laurie Mann modification before these or any other external AM antennas could be plugged into the radio. A serious time crunch here (finishing up the LW plug-in loopstick orders and other antenna projects) makes it tough to take on any new projects like this currently.

Subject: [IRCA] PL-606 LW/MW plug-in antenna mod?
Hi all (especially ULR tinkerers)...
I have my Tecsun PL-606 open, as I had to replace a broken whip antenna, and while I have it open I figure I may as well modify the FM/SW plug to also accept LW/MW antennas. I know there have been a couple PDFs published detailing how to do it with the PL-390 and the PL-310, and someone has said it can be done with the PL-606 as well, but I haven't been able to find instructions for that model.
Does anyone by any chance have any photos showing what connections I would need to make / reroute, or are there any instructions somewhere detailing how to do that with the PL-606?
Also I know someone on the yahoo ultralightdx group sometimes will make antennas for DXers (when he doesn't run out of materials or time :) ) but are there instructions posted somewhere for how to make my own antenna? (I think he's mentioned an LCR meter used for something while making them, but I don't have one, and if I was going to get one wouldn't want to spend more than about $10-20 or so.)
TIA & 73
Stephen
