Hello All,
There was another bizarre fade-in during TP-DXing this morning here, and I
was wondering whether anyone else noticed it.
675-VOV was all alone on the frequency in Vietnamese with a fair signal at
1401 (with a YL apparently reading news) when the Hanoi signal took a
dive, mixing with a co-channel, and then fading out completely as it was
replaced by a Japanese-speaking YL reading the news at a fair level, // 594 kHz.
This all happened within 2 minutes, recorded in the MP3 at

(headphones recommended).
The 5 kw Japanese NHK1 synchros on 675 kHz seem to be common in Masset
(John B. reported them as almost daily visitors in the 2007 DXpedition), but
this was the first time they were ever heard here. This was received on the
9' PVC loop, for the 7th new TP logging of the new season.
