TP report for 11 July 2010 from Masset: Completely DU!
Another very interesting morning. Conditions were even more DU, with hardly any Asian activity at
all. Perhaps a little down compared to
yesterday, at least initially. There
was a great dawn/post dawn enhancement, just as we see typically in the Fall
for DU activity. I monitored between
11:55 and 13:15 UTC. As I type this,
I’m listening to Radio Fly, PNG coming in really well on 5960. As always, “6” unless otherwise noted:
180, 531
612: 7 level at
12:01
657: DU at 7.5
675: 2 cochannels at
7.5: one DU and the other probably
Vietnam
684
693: 6.5 is the best
I could do with probable NHK2 at 12:06
702
729: 6.5
738: really strong
RFO Tahiti at 9 level
747: 6.5
774: 7.5 with DU EE
at 12:10
783: music noted at
12:11. Sounds Hindi, so likely Access
Radio, Wellington at 7 level
792: 7.5 level piano
music. Presumed 4RN
837
846: same piano
music as 792, therefore 2RN Canberra at 7 level
882
909: 7 level
music. Likely Southern Star Napier at 12:16
954
972: 6.5
1008, 1017
1026: prob Newstalk
ZB at 7
1035: Also Newstalk
ZB as // to 1026. 7 level from
Wellington
1044: 6.5 level, and
likely also Newstalk ZB Dunedin at 12:20
1053: jammer and
cochannel at 7
1071: 6.5
1089
1098: very strong OC!
1116: 4BC at 8 level
at 12:22 using ALA, but another station with Asian BOG at 12:22
1125: EZL music at 7
level, but increased to 8+ at 12:34, but down by 12:38. Several possibilities: a Filipino station, Radio Hauraki, Dunedin
with 400 w, or 5MU, Murray Bridge.
1134: JJ at 7.5
1143, 1161
1188: prob JOKP at 6
to 7 with BOG. Less likely Filipino
1206
1224: 6 to 7
1233: prob 2NC
Newcastle at 12:31 with talk at 7.5 level, and 8.5 to 9 by 12:38
1242: 7 level JJ
1251: 6.5
1269: seems EE at
low level
1278
1287: 7.5 JJ
1296: 8.5 level
Newstalk ZB at 12:43
1305
1314: 7 level prob
Southern Star at 12:45
1323: 7.5 level EZL
music. Possibly Australia or Filipino
at 12:46
1386: 8.5 level
Radio Tarana at 12:10
1395: 6.5
1413: 7 level
NYD. Too much splatter
1449, 1475, 1476, 1494:
all 6.5
1503
1512: 2RN Newcastle
at 9 level
1521
1548: 8 level 4QD
with both the ALA and QDFA producing great audio. Much better than BOG or Wellbrook array.
1557
1566: only a 7 with
QDFA only producing audio (HLAZ)
1575
1584: 7 to 8 with
EZL music. No TOH ID. Could be 400 w Classic Hits, Picton, NZ or
possibly a Filipino
1593
1611: Oldies format
with Buffalo Springfield at 7 level
1638: 6.5 with talk
at 13:04
1647, 1656, 1665, 1701
A great morning.
One more to go! ………Walt
