Re: [IRCA] Daylight Savings Time

I find it amusing that the people who think about the value of DST are the
same ones who put themselves right into the middle of the rat race doing
that 8-5 thing. They sacrifice all of their free time (the one thing that
CANNOT be replaced) by 0800 traffic, 1200 lunch traffic and 1700 traffic.
Where I used to live, I could never find work because interviewers looked at
my 60-mile oneway drive to work and thought how long it would take. By
staggering work schedules out 60-90 minutes later, I could cover that 60
miles in the same time it took them to drive 8 miles. Stagger lunch by the
same amount and I could actually have time to leisurely eat my lunch.
Stagger the go-home time and I had my choice to where to eat and where to
shop. Of course I didn't feel the slightest need to sit in front of a TV
every night and become a vidiot like most do. Along with the time savings,
I could get 30 mpg with the car when it would only get 20 in
bumper-to-bumper. That saved me 2 gallons a day there too.
