[IRCA] TP for 7 Feb from Victoria, BC

Slept in this morning, so might have missed something interesting by listening for only a few minutes around 1515UT; certainly conditions did seem "better" than yesterday, . Although some of the big JJ guns delivered well, the interest was in hearing a couple of the Chinese at fairly good level, with some reasonable echoey audio on 918 for example. Possibly I missed some interesting things by not listening longer.

Just noted the presumed HLAZ carrier pop off at 1800UT, then back on again, and weaker, presumably switching from Russian back to Korean? No sign of audio however.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

594 JOAK
774 JOUB
828 JOBB with quite huge signal at times

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK //594
747 JOIB //828
873 JOGB //828
918 CC teletalk, with echo; best at 1521UT
936 mx, best at 1522, Anhui?
1566 HLAZ w/paint-peeling carrier, CC talk at 1524UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be
understood by a native speaker

639 CNR-1 //4460
954 likely JOKR w/JJ talk by woman
972 never noted past this level, and seemed to be something else under it as well
1575 likely VoA

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

675 presumed Vietnam w/mx
1476 sounded like an echo on unrecognizable talk; not NHK2
1512 mx; no idea

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

1053

best wishes,

Nick
