Subject: [NRC-AM] My first TP ever (JOIB-747) - now the challenge is to hear it on a UL

Yesterday morning (Oct 19) at 1355 UTC I noticed using a DX-375 a
strong het on 690, presumably from JOAB however no audio could be pulled out. This led me today to check the Japan frequencies, using a barefoot GE Superadio II. The het was still there from 1340 - 1400, but still no audio.
Tuning to 747, at times JOIB was armchair copy. Tried for it on my Gary DeBock aligned SRF-59 but signal had faded by the time I got the SRF-59 on the right frequency. Still thrilling to get audio on a TP for the first time ever, more so using a barefoot portable in RF noisy Calgary AB.

The icing on the cake will be to receive it on the SRF-59, needless
to say will try this tomorrow.

Will also try the other NHK powerhouse frequencies - too bad I have
50 kW local CHQR-770 which would make reception of JOUB-774 difficult.

Perhaps I should move to the west coast:)
